We walked the loop today in high wind conditions. Did not meet anyone and the weather was good. Easy trail. Not a lot to see but it was still enjoyable. Nice little 2+ mile loop.

Great little hike of around 3.1 miles when all was said and done with my honey. Weather was in low 70’s and sunny. Good hike on a Saturday!

Great trail. Went on cool(cold) rainy day and loved it. Trail hugs against lake to the right. Can choose if you want to go 12 miles or 14 but overall, it’s a good moderate trail with manageable elevation changes. Would recommend. Tree cover would be welcomed during summer months. Will return.

Lumpy Ridge and Gem Lake trail are well worth the effort. For me, I'd rate this trail slightly more than moderate. The last 1/2 to Gem Lake was strenuous for me at 51 with a bad knee. The views and satisfaction will outweigh any pain I might endure. I started at sunrise when it was 63 and only encountered 3 people on the way up. I was the 2nd car in the parking lot at the trailhead. When I came back down after hiking around and beyond Gem Lake, I met several groups and some nice folks from all over this beautiful country. If you haven't hiked this area, you should make it a point to do so. My memories will last forever. Enjoyed and now off to find some Aleve! Lol

We headed out on the trailhead and only after a couple of miles, my mate started having asthma issues as we had only had 1/2 day to acclimate to the 8,000 ft elevation change. We were still treated to some nice views along the way. I was hoping to see the summit but it was not to be on this day. Well paved trail with lots of sign from both horses and elk. Will return on a return trip to finish it off.

Enjoyed trail yesterday. Last time I was on this trail, it was in the 40's and a major downpour came when I was the furthest from my ride. Great spot, scenic and memorable.

We hiked the Lily lake section and then the Lily Ridge trail afterwards. The ridge had a lot more elevation although still easy and well paved. If you start it on the North side of the lake, the elevation increase is spread out further whereas on the South side, the elevation is more vertical at the start. It levels out near the top of the ridge and provides some spectacular views out to the West. Our day was great. We started early in the AM and finished just as the shops were opening down in town. We will be back.

We hiked just under 2 miles and only ran into a few people. Weather was great (sunny and 60). Was just checking it out as it was my first time but I went with my buddy that hikes this area frequently. He showed me damage from the flood and the washed out bridges that still need repaired. It was a great way to burn some early morning calories. Easy and some great sight lines of Lake Grapevine!

Went mid day. Temp was 60 and it was a nice sunny day. Since there are some 14 creek crossings and due to recent rains, it was ankle deep in many crossings but the water was refreshing as I had on waterproof hiking boots. Using the rocks and fallen tree limbs, I was able to cross with minimal submersion. This trail always has unleashed dogs and today was no different. As long as your ok with a couple of strays coming up to you to check you out well before their owner is visible , you'll be fine. Still enjoy this hike as much as most as it is a easy and quick way to see pretty trails and get some exercise. Left here and hit a couple more trails inside the Emma Long park to complete a ~6.5 mile day. Great weather!

My better half and I went to Tejas trial for the first time in Georgetown Tx on Sunday AM. We found the trial to be well maintained and it was an easy one but still provided nice views once up on the tree line looking down into the lake and the cliff edges. We trekked about 6 miles before we decided the Texas sun had warmed things up enough that it was time to head out. We only met a few solo runners and some families with dogs during the day. I would recommend it as a check it off the box trial. I did have one tick when I got home but it was easily removed and we will go back at some point.
