Pretty crowded for a Saturday but not terrible. Great lung burner on the way up. Took me 45 min up and 45 down with no breaks. Would be great views if it weren't for the smoke from the fires.

The drive from North Hollywood took about an hour on a Monday morning. Once you enter the Buckhorn Campground, continue driving until you see signs for trailhead parking.

Pros: One of the best woodsy trails in the LA area. The decent is easy and has beautiful tree cover. Round trip the distance is under 3 miles. The hike out had our hearts pumping !! Good steady burn.

Cons: Lots of annoying nats and flying insects throughout the hike unfortunately. Really stinky pit toilets at the trailhead.

*****When you come to the first split stay to the right on the Burkhart Trail to the falls (The 'Cooper Canyon Trail' marker is deceiving). Keep in mind the short trail down to the falls is NOT MARKED. Once you pass the stream crossing -- shortly ahead on the left is the trail to the rope. We accidentally passed it and walked a mile in the wrong direction. If you come to a second stream crossing and the trail marker for the PCT is visible, you've gone too far. ****

The trail is very sandy and makes for a good leg workout. Scenic the entire hike. The waterfall is one of the prettiest I've ever seen, green with moss. A lot of people were swimming in the water and hanging their hammocks at the falls. Be warned the later in the evening the bugs come out in droves. We practically ran the trail back to avoid them at 4pm.

Beautiful slot canyon. Easy to get lost, trail isn't well marked. Water was freezing cold, our feet were icicles.

Easy, free parking right at the trailhead. First mile is a nicely groomed trail that runs above a stream. Ample tree cover and very pretty mountain views. Last quarter mile are multiple stream crossings; waterproof boots were a useful accessory. Waterfall was beautiful. Friday at 5pm wasn't too crowded either.

One of the best hikes around Los Angeles. Tricky parking. Beautiful ocean views.

This is like 'the hills have eyes -- the hike'. There was a homeless person's tent across the trail in one of the caves. Creepy! As others said, cave has significant graffiti. Very trashed trail -- beer bottles and plastic bottles everywhere. Also trail wasn't marked, I had to resort to my all trails map. I won't return.
