Pretty waterfall and worth the effort! We started from the Glacier Gorge trailhead -- very pretty hike to the falls. We decided to return via the trail to the Bear Lake trailhead -- turns out that's VERY uphill, especially if you're doing it at the end of a long day of hiking like we were. If I had it to do over, I'd start at Bear Lake and hike downhill rather than ending with that uphill climb.

A RMNP must-do. Great views and so much diversity! That said, do yourself a favor and get out of the car and experience some of the hikes in the park (and not just the

I didn't do the full 2.5 miles (sounds like many see that as a waste since much of the trail is Old Fall River Road). I'd suggest driving and taking a shorter route from one of two pullouts. You can make the harder climb up the trail/boulders along the falls if you stop at the first pullout (unmarked but you'll see water). If you're feeling less ambitious, stop at the marked pullout and walk down some stairs to the observation deck...best views are right there.

Definitely worth your time, though the views are better once you get to Trail Ridge Road. The 'scariness factor' is overhyped...it's not that bad. Be sure to make the stops at the Alluvial Fan and Chasm Falls along the way. On Chasm Falls, you can make the harder climb up the trail/boulders along the falls if you stop at the first pullout (unmarked but you'll see water). If you're feeling less ambitious, stop at the marked pullout and walk down some stairs to the observation deck...best views are right there.

Nice hike to some decent waterfalls. We did this one on the drive up from Denver, which I think made for a great intro to RMNP.

Pretty flat and easy with some good views of the river running through the meadow and the mountains beyond. Unfortunately, no moose sightings (probably because it's summer). We did the full loop rather than in/out as it's about the same distance. It's just too far for what you get to see, but the best views are in the middle so there's not a great solution. Also, bring your bug spray...there were a LOT of mosquitoes!

There's a reason this is possibly the most popular hike in the park -- it's absolutely beautiful. Great reflection shots, especially off of Nymph Lake, but don't stop there or even at Dream Lake. Hiking all the way to Emerald is well worth the effort. A bonus for us was hiking down the unmarked trail to see some great waterfalls early in the hike -- you'll hear the rushing water! An 'easy' rating is probably understanding the difficulty of this hike, especially since the hike to Dream Lake (which is a subset of this hike) is rated 'moderate.'

Beautiful reflections in the morning. This trail is a flat, easy loop around a beautiful still lake that offers fantastic reflections of the mountains. We saw some deer. Others have told me they saw a moose, though we weren't that lucky. Even so, great way to start the day!

This hike is underrated and definitely worth your while! The hike up to the lake (while admittedly a long uphill climb) offers fantastic panoramic views of the mountains that are hard to beat anywhere in the park. Then, Bierstadt Lake has beautiful reflections of the mountains in the morning and it feels secluded...far fewer people than Nymph, Dream, or Emerald (though those are also great). Rather than hiking back down the way we came, we hiked to Bear Lake from Bierstadt. I'd suggest hiking back down or to the Park & Ride instead. The hike to Bear Lake was nothing special but was uphill nearly all the way.
