I agree with Ken. It is an enjoyable easy hike or run. One small patch of rock scrambling gives you a moment to catch your breath while negotiating a brief narrow passage near the water.

An easy in and out trail with nice, spotted views across the gorge. A clear, quiet Sunday afternoon, taking in fading, but still radiant fall foliage, created a peaceful locale for lunch on the dock. Adding a trip to Inspiration Point to watch kayakers brave the cold rapids, satisfyingly topped the 14-mile day.

An easy, comfortable trail that provided some nice views along the way. Added the loop trail around the lake and got pulled briefly back to civilization with access to restrooms. Then hopped on Big Rock Nature Trail and after getting lost in conversation found myself backtracking portions of Gahuti already traveled before reversing route to complete the trail. Total of 12 miles covered under an overcast sky brighten by diminishing, but still colorful fall foliage.

My second trek on this section of the AT during the fall season once again left me often just standing in awe, taking in the beauty viewed from the ridgeline. The strenuous climb to and from Tray Mtn was made all worthwhile with a view beyond the summit before reaching the nearby shelter marked by the blue blazes.

A good in and out hike. Nice views. Some fallen trees. Feet got wet since recent rains created a lot of streaming water. Including a side trip to Siler Bald, the hike totaled 23.97 miles from the parking lot and back.

An amazing place with great campsites, hiking and views. Take a map, take your time and don't over look the trip up to High Bethel. Definitely worth every effort.

Began a rigorous 18 mile loop starting at Three Forks that included Jacks River Trail, Hickory Ridge Trail and Rough Ridge Trail, with a side trip at Beech Bottom to Jacks River Falls. Some fallen trees forced river crossings and bushwhacking up a steep incline at one point due to an impassable switchback. Twice a thunderstorm rolled through, dropping heavy rain for about thirty minutes each time. Otherwise sunshine laced the forest beautifully, causing awe-filled moments all day. A fun, adventurous outing. Elevation gains during the hike can be challenging for some. The river is deep is some areas and the rocks are slick. Make sure you're ready.

A quick pace got us out and back in just under 6 hours after taking a 30 minute break at Brasstown Bald. The summit gave views of many future mountains to climb. Looking forward to each one.

Did most of the trails - red, white, blue, yellow and a few unmarked -- maintaining a fairly quick pace to total about 11 miles. Pleasant and worth a leisurely moderate Sunday morning/afternoon hike with a few technical spots to keep the fun in exploring the wilderness.

A surprisingly scenic trail that offers forest and river views uncommon in most metro areas. There are even off-trail opportunities for quiet exploration. If you can't make it to the mountains for a challenging trail run, here's a good substitute near the city.

A good forest hike. No panoramic views, but nature displayed finely, nonetheless. The sliver of a trail leaves much undisturbed. It's suggested that you don't attempt to complete the trail in one day. The climbs and descents you encounter leave you with a satisfying sense of accomplishment once done. I say do it. Just don't expect easy and have a change of clothes if you're the fussy, need to be clean in public type. You will sweat whether hot or cold.

The magical feel of the trail had me expecting Frodo Baggins and the crew to pop out any moment requesting directions. A very cool hike into the clouds with rewarding views along the way.

Did a 20 mile trail run loop from SC28 to the point Foothills trails forks off from Chattooga. The river is present a good bit, offering nice views. A few small water crossings that were probably heavier than normal since a thunder storm came through providing a heavy downpour. A lot of fallen trees and bush trail overgrowth. It was fun. There are a some nice campsites along the river that were all taken this Memorial Day weekend.

Easy trail with a couple of small stream crossings requiring rock jumping and limb balancing.

A fairly simple hike for the most part that offered a few moments requiring thought before the next step. There were a few spots that caused hesitation due to the excessive amount of rainfall the last couple of weeks. (The presumed bear smell also caused pause.) The washed out look of some areas might have you wondering if you're still actually on the trail. Some full streams and a few clusters of shifted boulders and large fallen trees added to the adventure. The nearly picture perfect day increased the number of greetings along the way, but many opportunities remained on the round-trip to allow long moments of gratifying introspection.

A quick and easy site to get to, but a view that's hard to let go.
