I hiked this trail on March 13th and camped at campsite 30. The actual distance from the trail head to campsite 30 is 6.8 miles. At campsite 24 begins three river crossings that you will get wet. The one just before campsite 30 you will definitely get wet. I can't speak for campsites 21 and 24. But campsite 30 is hard packed gravel and no place to hang a hammock as far as I could tell. You will definitely need a free standing tent if you choose to camp at this site. The actual trail was easy, with no views except of the river.

I completed this trail on October 8th. It is a difficult climb, however the rewards are worth it. The views are wonderful. When you come to the intersection with the MST to river trail turn around so your back is facing the sign. Then you will see two trails one on your left and the other on your right. If you want to see the awesome views take the trail on your left, this will take you close to the cliffs. The trail is a little longer than taking the one on the right, which is a more direct route. If you take the trail to your left you will come across some water coming out of the mountain, it’s roughly about 1.5 miles from the trailhead. The pond at the top was full of water as well, which i assumed would be with all of the rain lately. I highly recommend hiking this trail if you get the chance.

This is an easy trail with good views of the river. There are also several spots to swim if you go during the summer. About two miles in there is a spot with two rope swings. They look like they have been there for a while so I'm not sure how they would hold up now.
