Vanessa Thompson reviewed Rattlesnake Ledge Trail

My husband and I took our two dogs up to the top. It was our first hike so a little challenging, especially for being out of shape, but the view at the top was so worth it! Plus there’s a nice breeze when you get up there. It is heavily trafficked, but not so much so that you can’t enjoy it. People and dogs of all ages and sizes were going up and down this trail! The trail is pretty rocky and gets a little steep at times, but for the most part it’s just a slight uphill climb. It’s about 2.5 miles to the top, so top to bottom makes it a 5 mile hike. Make sure to park outside of the gate if you’re going to be there after 8 since they close the gate. There are plenty of clean porta potty’s to use by the lake, as well as trash and recycle bins to throw your things in. But no trash service on the trail, so make sure to pick up after yourself and keep the place clean. There were bear warnings, but we didn’t see any sings of them on or near the trail.
