The trail to the glacier is easy and rewarding.

We attempted to get closer to the glacier to the ice caves, which were beautiful and nothing like I’ve ever seen in my life. However, to get the ice caves, we needed to cross a rock pile. Some areas had loose rocks, and delicate ice. This made the hike unexpectedly long.

Good hike, even for the family! The view at the end with the arch caught us by surprise and was simply breathtaking. Relaxed there for a good amount of time before heading back down.

Nice view towards the top, but first half of the hike was rather monotonous through an area lined with trees. So there wasn’t much of a view initially. Very windy at the top.

Truly one of the best hikes I’ve ever been on. It’s up there with the landscapes of Banff and Switzerland. There’s everything from forest, to meadows, to mountains, glaciers and finally the ice field is just breath taking.

We did not actually go down to the ice field because there was no clear path, but it’s definitely possible.

Lots of bugs — wasps, bees, flies. We barely missed the sightings of 3 bears.

Despite the nice weather, the trail is relatively monotonous through forested & coastal area. It’s also very easy to miss the turn to the falls. For such a long hike, I felt like I was seeking more.
