Vanessa Lafaurie reviewed O'Fallon Park Upper Loop Trail

I am only giving this trail a two because I didn't finish it. The second parking lot has a river running with beautiful rocks that where we stayed the entire time. We attempted to do the trail however it was very overgrown where the brush was constantly touching you. Being scared of running into a Rattlesnake, we decided to turn back and maybe come back in Winter. There was also a Bear in area sign that kind of freaked me out. No parking fee, Bathrooms at the trail head.

This hike was pretty beautiful. The hike is all uphill until you get to the lake. The hike is Rocky and has lose rocks, so good grippy shoes would be ideal for the hike back. Hike has many many stairs but doable, many kids on this trail. At the lake there are Chipmunks that will crawl on you for food ❤. There are bathrooms at the trail head and a toilet way up in the mountain almost getting to the lake. No parking fee.

Trail head has Portal Potties (not the cleanest). $5 fee to park (Honor System). The trail is pretty steep and rocky in the beginning but not bad at all. Once you reach the top it's amazing. Mountains were covered in snow. The trail is covered in snow, some slush but no ice..snow is very very slippery in sneakers so wear boots. At the top you can ski down, snow board or just slide down. The lake was half frozen. Beautiful pictures on this trail. Trail had moderate traffic. Definitely coming back when snow is melted.

No enterance fee to the park. Bathroom at the trail head (very clean). Trail is very steep going up. Very pretty hike, very woodsy. No ice, no snow, no mudd. Once you reach the top you have full view of what I consider a Bob Ross painting of happy little trees

Did this hike today 5-4-18. Park requires no fee to enter. Bathroom at the trail head. The beginning of the trail was icey and slushy. The middle was slightly muddy but not bad at all. The trail is very secluded, brushy and very woodsy. You have to cross some creeks, so waterproof shoes are suggested. Noone on the trail until we got to Chavez trail. Chavez trail is steep going back and can be challenging in some areas. Would love this trail in summer when flowers are all bloomed.

Steady incline, no parking fee, right next to Ncar. No bathrooms. No parking, you have to park on the side of the road infront of someones house. Pretty trees, pretty views of Ncar. This hike is good with dogs for an evening stroll.

Vanessa Lafaurie reviewed Devil's Head Lookout Trail to Fire Tower (DEC-APR ROAD CLOSED)

The road to this hike becomes a red dirt road all the way up through the mountain. The hike is through a beautiful forest, we did this hike 4-24-18 in a snowy blizzard. At the top of the tower was very windy and we couldn't really see the view but still very beautiful. Will definitely be back in summer.

Did this hike 04/20/2018. Before getting to the entrance of the park, you drive very slowly through unpaved dirt road not leveled at all. The entrance to the park is $8 per vehicle. Once you enter the park the bathrooms are right at the entrance, no more bathrooms after that. The park is breathtaking. The hike is through canyons, steady incline going up, no climbing over rocks or difficult obstacles. I would rate this easy if you get tired just take more breaks. There is also a trail called Fowler Trail you can do after this hike. Fowler is a super easy trail, the views are amazing, plenty of places for pictures.
