Tony Fachaux reviewed South Rim Trail - Boot Springs Trail

We did the trail in 7h30 with lots of break for taking pictures and having our lunch at the south rim part of the trail. The trail is not streneous, just a long hike! The trail is really well marked and the elevation gain is very smooth. We started at 7 AM by the pinnacles trail and finished by the laguna meadows. The end of the trail was very sunny, wear a hat ! The best part is the south rim for the view and the rest of the trail is also nice with different landscapes all the way.

We did it at 7 AM to avoid a full parking, sun and to have the sunrise. We did it in 2 hours (we are intermediate hikers in the 30’s). It’s a very easy trail, very well marked. The view all the way and at the top is really nice, do it until the end !

One hour hike with a gravel road before. If you have a SUV it’s very manageable, don’t be afraid to take the road! The trail is very easy and very beautiful, I recommand it!

Very nice trail ! It took us 2 hours from the campground (we are intermediate hikers in the 30’s). We did it at 5 PM and it was hot and windy (1L per person was enough for us). The trail is really easy all the way and very well marked. The view at the end really worth it. We met a little rattlesnake in the trail, so be careful and stay in the middle of the trail.

Very nice trail! It was very icy with also some packed snow. We used microspike for all the trail (snowshoes was absolutely not needed today). Be careful close to the summit, some sections are very icy but well manageable if you have good microspike like hillsound. The rest of the trail is pretty easy. The view at the top worth the trip!
