This is a gorgeous hike and a must do! The best time of day is during sunrise. Depending on the time of year, leaving Moab around 445 am will give you time to get to Canyonlands and walk to Mesa Arch. Be prepared to be around a good amount of people. We got to the trailhead at 550 am and there were already at least 12 people at Mesa Arch when we arrived. By sunrise there were at about 25 people. If you are trying to photograph the perfect picture I recommend getting there even earlier. Anticipate having people sitting around the arch and moving to get the best shot. There are plenty of places to see the arch but you will have many people covering it, which can detract from the beauty. Many of these people are trying to get the arch right at sunrise. If you don’t care about getting a photo at the exact sunrise, wait 30 minutes after sunrise. There will be less people and you will still get to enjoy the sunrise. Actually the rock of the arch glows best about 25 minutes after sunrise. If you’re going out at that time, BRING BUG SPRAY. I left with about 15 bug bites. The trail itself is easy and short. Definitely worth the hike at sunrise, even with the people there. It’s really breathtaking!

This is beautiful hike. The first 1/4 mile is uphill but then you drop into a small canyon area that offers some beautiful views. The trail is easy and there a few places for shade. The weather wasn’t that great when we went as it was raining on and off again. We checked with the ranger regarding the weather and she said that this trail does not really have any flash flood risks. The bridge is breathtaking. It was amazing to see such a beautiful structure in nature. Once you get close to the bridge, you will want to follow the cairns to guide your path. It’s definitely worth adding this small hike to your list.

This hike is an easy hike. The only thing that makes it potentially difficult is the weather, as there isn’t much shade on the trail. Bring plenty of water. The trail had a few hills to walk up and down. Just past landscape arch on the way to Double O is a small scramble. You don’t need to scramble to get to Landscape arch, but the scramble up to Double O is a little fun and it’s maybe another 5 minute walk past Landscape. The top of the scramble offers some great views and if you are there in the mid day, you can get some shade up there. All in all this is a great hike. There are also vault toilets and water at the trail head.

This trail was a great trail to overlook Canyonlands (hence the name). It’s a pretty easy walk along the edge of the Mesa. There are no guard rails along the edge so be careful and watch children closely. There are some areas to take some great photos that are close to the edge without being dangerous. As for the hike itself, it was pretty easy with a few area with stairs. There is not much shade along the trail so be prepared and take lots of water. There are also large cairns built into the trail to assist. Towards the end of the trail, the trail can be a little hard to follow. Some of the cairns are also further between so you’ll want to pay attentional where you’re going. Once you’re at the end, there are some beautiful vistas. The main vista takes a small rock scramble to get to the top, but it’s doable for any fitness level. It’s a great hike and is highly recommended!
