This is probably one of my favorite hikes anywhere. You need great water shoes as most of the hike is in the Virgin river itself. Amazing views of the canyon from the canyon floor. The trail is crowded for the first half mile or mile buy thins out more and more with each mile you travel.

Strenuous climb, but the view at the end is well worth it. Amazing.

This is a great hike, even for the kids (we took them this past Father's Day). The trail is mostly easy, with a few parts that would qualify as moderate. The distance of just under 3 miles is right at the edge of the max distance before really small kids will get cranky. The parking area is still under construction, so you have to park along the side of the road on the south side of Hwy 53, just east of the bridge. Because the parking area is closed, there are two detour/temporary trail entrances also on the south side of 53, east of the bridge: one just past the bridge and another about 100 feet further east. Where the boardwalk portion of the trail ends and the dirt trail begins along the river can get a little crowded on hot days with people there to swim and cool off in the "Edge of the World" rapids, but the trail quickly gets quiet as you head into the woods away from the river.
