This hike is awesome. Loved the varying terrain. I was worried about crossing the causeway, but found it doable for all skill levels. I was still nervous, but it was not as bad as I anticipated. Hiking on the flat tops was great with great views.

This hike was awesome! Road to trailhead very rough. I would highly recommend 4wd, even though I saw a few sedans at the trailhead. I thought this was a moderate, not a difficult hike. The scenery was awesome. Lots of wild flowers. Make sure to pack a jacket or windbreaker, as it was cool, and very windy at the top. Lake Dorothy was beautiful and protected from the wind.

I did this on Fathers Day with my son and daughter. This was the third time I have done this loop. While there were too many baggies of doggie poop along the trail for me, the hike is beautiful. My kids enjoyed the many tricky water crossings. The road to the parking are is closed by some kind of construction, which adds a little distance. If you do the loop clockwise, the last hill back to the trailhead is short and steep, if you go counterclockwise the las uphill will be a little more gradual. Take plenty of water for this hike, especially when it's hot. Lots of dogs, which was no problem.
