Short, quick and easy. First half in is flat, then an easy trek to the summit. I'd say this is great for kids and beginners.

Coney was our third and final hike of the day for our completion of the TL Triad. I'd say it was fairly easy; A LOT of roots, so watch your footing. We took a little longer reaching summit, but the view was a gorgeous reward! We arrived at 2:20pm, summit at 3:40 and returned to our vehicle at 4:30. I loved the large, bald summit. The 360° views are beautiful! This short hike is worth the effort, for sure.

Goodman was our second hike of the day for the TL Triad. The first 1/3 of the way is a slightly worn paved trail. From then on, the trail is a traditional hiking trail. Easy hike, and fairly quick. We hiked as a family with my 10 year old. Arrived at 12:20, summit at 1:15, and were in our vehicle by 2:00. Views atop weren't 360°, but pleasant.

We started our day (8/25/18) with Arab for the triad. We all enjoyed this hike. My daughter (10) said this was her favorite of the day. Nice and fairly easy hike from start to finish. Summit and fire tower views were gorgeous. Loved the steward and his newfoundland pups; great with children and very informative. We pulled in to trailhead at 9:50am, summit approximately 10:45, and were back in the car at 11:35. Great starting hike for the triad!

One of my daughter's favorite little hikes! We love this little mountain trail, and the view never disappoints. Please stay respectful of the property, as it is private, so we don't lose the privilege of using it.

We enjoyed this hike, and had a great time scrambling some rocks and spotting all of the little water falls along the way to the larger fall. We were close to summit, however someone in our party sustained an injury and wanted to turn back. We will be going again, and look forward to it. There are two ways to enter; by the brook or the gravel road.

This is not a hike. This is a short walk on a gravel road to the fire tower. The views from the tower are nice, and this is the easiest fire tower of the challenge. Also, there are three geodetic trail markers on the "summit" to look for. My daughter loves finding them. If you plan on coming here, pair this location with another hike, especially if traveling.

Stephanie Lynne reviewed Shingletree Pond Trail

We decided to stop in here during an outing of trail walking. This trail is truly nothing spectacular. A lot of it seems overgrown. The pond at the trail head (Courtney Pond) is beautiful; lots of frogs and blooming lilly pads to see. Shingletree Pond (at end of walk through culvert) is small and similar. This location is the end of the hike, unless you plan to wander through the Dix on your own with a map/compass.

We hiked 5/11. Trail was very well marked and easy to follow. There were a couple spots where we stopped to take in some views. Once on summit, the views were great! We ran the trail on the way down, and were on our way home in 20 mins. Nice little hike! Definitely a good one for kids.
