After reading other hiker reviews, we hiked clockwise and walked on level ground for the last mile or so. I strongly recommend doing it this way otherwise you’re hiking 80% of the elevation gain at the tail end of the trail. The incline is gradual and there are pathways to see both radio and satellite antennas. Solid views overlooking the valley and surrounding mountains. Bring plenty of water as there is a minimal amount of shade.

Super challenging if you’re not used to 300 ft or more of rock scrambling. Moderate incline until you past the stairs and then it gets steep. There’s a grip bar with two sides. Stay right when ascending. This trail is not for those just starting out. There is no shade (not even at the summit) so bring lots of water and wear sun protection. I would highly recommend wearing gloves. The boulders reflect and absorb light and heat from the sun so it is a must to start your hike shortly before sunrise. It took me a little <3 hrs out & back drinking six 16 oz bottles of water.

Not for someone just starting out but great if you’re looking for a quick out and back in less than 2 hours. There is a little scramble just below the summit and the last 400 ft is a relatively steep incline. Just watch your step and hike easy.
