Great trail but don’t stop at Mystery Lake. Lots of things to explore in that area so hike past the lake and you will see some amazing viewpoints

Love it and good workout with the switchbacks to the meadow. Beautiful views from the Ridge and just magical up top.
Good trail and take a camera and binoculars.

Sad to see this trail so crowded, can do with high heels on as the trail is much easier than years ago. Didn’t see any rangers , outhouses stink and even the area around middle lake near outhouses smells like urine. Overcrowded parking lots and the experience now “speaking for myself” is a major turnoff in the summer months.
Suggest going in the off season mid-week. Views are spectacular just minus the huge amount of people and slinky outhouses.

Not that difficult. The challenge is the rockfall area to the pass from Sheep Camp to Happy Camp but is short lived. The challenge for me was the weather. Torrential rain and wind hitting me sideways. Streams on the CANADIAN side were challenging as water level did get high but doable. High winds blew me into a few creeks.
Will come back to do the Canadian side as the scenery is simply breathtaking. Beauty beyond belief. Clean toilets and Lindeman Camp had their two cabins heated with the wood stoves going. Three days of rain and soaked to the bone. Lindeman gave us a chance to dry out things.
Love love love the Canadian side and travel thru that terrain was simply awe inspiring.
