Gorgeous hike. Amazing views all over. Gem Lake was a little smaller than I expected, but beautiful and very friendly chipmunks (DO NOT FEED THEM)! Last bit was steep, but doable!

Really enjoyed the hike! We went on Sunday April 22nd, and there were still a lot of trees across the trail. While we could go over and under some, there were parts where we had to detour off the trail to get around. PATC trail crews were out working on the trails, and I would expect that they will have the trail cleared sooner than later.

The falls were beautiful, and while it was a steep path down to them (and back up afterwards), it was well worth it.

Nice hike to the observation blind. We saw a Great Egret and a Great Blue Heron in the march area!

Shawn MacDonnell reviewed White Oak Trail to Cranny Crow Overlook

The staff in the main building told us that this is the most popular hike in Lost River State Park, and I can see why! We arrived ready for sun and 90 degree weather, but as we got going, we received a downpour of rain instead! The upside was that we had the view at Cranny Crow all to ourselves! The hike was a pretty constant uphill, but mostly pretty gradual. There was a lot of shade along the trail, and the shelter makes a nice spot to stop for a minute. On a nicer day, we might have combined this with some other trails to make a longer hike.

Short hike around the gorge. Slightly strenuous uphill towards the end, but manageable.
