Incredible hike with spectacular views! Steady up hill with a few flat stretches. About three hours total. I pushed myself with my only the break being at the top! Do it!

It felt mystical standing at the top with clouds swirling all around me. There were enough breaks to see the grand views. It was cold but felt great. Hiked on 10/11 and clocked 4.75 on my GPS.

I drive up to Tony Grove to backpack this trail every fall. It's a beautiful drive and a very easy hike. If you get here at the right time, the aspens are all yellow and look outstanding! Descending down to the lake is fun and there are quite a few spots to camp.

This is a beautiful hike. It is a long drive to get to it and is very popular but we decided to start about 5PM. We brought headlamps for the way back and missed most people. Lush trail, great ocean viewpoints, and the falls are fantastic!

Completed on 8/29/17 as a day hike. 14 hours total. This included two 15 minute breaks on the way up. An hour at the top (why not soak it in) and two 15 minute breaks on the way down. I would recommend this as a day hike with the proper training. Get in as many strenuous high altitude hikes as you can beforehand.

We started at 1:15 AM and enjoyed hiking up through the night. We used a headlamp + a small inflatable solar lantern clipped to a belt loop for additional light around our feet. We were fine not seeing the 99 switchbacks on the way up, but were lucky enough to see the sunrise right when we reached the top of the switchbacks. What an incredible moment! A couple more miles and we were at the top! Coming down was spectacular and we soaked in all the views we didn't see on the way up. Afternoon rain hit us and it was magical! I loved this hike and can't wait to do it again!

Great hike! Gradual incline most of the climb up until right before you summit, then it becomes a little steeper for the last 1/2 mile. 3-4 liters of water, a snack, and a jacket for up top are all you'll need. Pack out your trash!! I picked up so much garbage on the way down. Other than the litter on the trail, this is a beautiful hike.

This is one hell of a hike! The first two miles are a slightly moderate incline and a nice warm up. Around two miles you hit the "Jacobs Ladder tr. no. 186" sign. It's a steep uphill from there for about 1.8ish miles. You then descend into a beautiful meadow and stay there for about a half mile. You begin another short ascent through pines which leads to an open area where you cross over rock slabs with stunning views around you.

As you continue, you begin climbing into a valley with a stream running through it and wildflowers galore! You will come upon a boulder field and you will want to stay to the left. Look for the cairns and stay to the left some more which leads you to the saddle. More steep climbing which eventually gets you to the Lone Peak!

Start early. 6AM. Bring a lot of water (5 liters) and snacks. I tracked 13.7 miles on my Garmin GPS.

This is a really easy hike. It's slightly over 5 miles one way and offers spectacular views. We drove up from SLC and backpacked here overnight. The parking lot says it's for day use, but we paid for a "day use" spot and dropped the money in the box at the campground around the corner. We hung the receipt in the car and didn't have any problems. As far as the tree, I'm not sure how you could think it's unimpressive because it is absolutely magnificent!!! The contorted branches, the surrounding scenery, and the fact that life still flows through it. Sit on the bench and soak it in.
