Fantastic Elevation gain, pretty solid views from all lookouts (you have to dive off the trail a bit to see them). Cool down after in Peakamoose blue hole, but please pack your trash out unlike the other inconsiderate people.

The trail is not much, you go there for the swimming and "rock slides". It's not exactly Schlitterbahn but its pretty cool that it's all natural. We found a ledge to jump off into (posted in pictures) where the water deepened, and once we started doing that everyone was trying it. This was a good little spot to spot and cool off after a morning of more rigorous hikes.

Easy going sandy path that goes out away from the lake then hugs it for the latter part of the trail (if you go clockwise). Every where there was a creek, even if was flowing less than a dribble, had a footbridge over it. The way we went ended with the nice open path across the spill way, gets a good view of the lake.

Frequented by scout troops, plus people with trail markers. Markers are on trees (red diamond) to help you distinguish from the mostly separate mountain biking trail.

Did the Winding stairs leg which was about 5 mi. hiked in and set up camp. fairly crowded with campsites set up every hundred yards or so down the trail, plenty of spots. idea was to set up camp and hike in without packs the next day but it rained pretty consistently all weekend.

scenery was nice, pretty basic forest with rocky outcroppings. good size trout in the creek but they weren't biting for anybody. trail is well cleared and marked. was fairly easy going with a full pack and brisk pace.
