A nice short hike with rewarding big views! There’s even a concrete bench at the top!

Perhaps one of the best hikes in the Massanutten mountains!

A tough hike walking on rocks in a dry stream bed, but the views from the the top rock are good!

Parked to the side of the Fire Road 230 exactly where All Trails guided us, then followed the trail to the end of where All Trails notes. HOWEVER, this was NOT the end of the hike if you want to continue to Hogpen Lake! Continue down the path to the end and turn LEFT toward the lake/dam and enjoy the views! Overall, the hike was 6 miles, but well worth the extra effort. I consider this an easy to moderate hike. We’d do it again!

Nice easy to moderate hike, especially in the winter or early spring to view creeks and various waterfalls. The water featured today were awesome after the storms blew through yesterday. This is one of those less-travelled trails you’ll love!

Great hike with awesome views!!! Very diverse terrain with creeks, forest and rock. You will encounter some mountain bikers, but that only added to the experience. Starting out was precarious because of three vital points erred by All Trails:

1- It is NOT a loop trail, it out and back.
2- Hangover trail is NOWHERE to be seen at the Red Rocks Wilderness trailhead/parking location. Take the Munds Wagon Trail 1.7 miles, and then turn left onto Hangover. The sign there is evident.
3- The entire trail is 6.5 miles, not the advertised 5.8 miles. Not sure how that happened.

Being all that, this is an amazing hike and not to be missed!!

Good moderate hike overall with good views, not spectacular, from the summit.

Part of this trail is steep and rocky, but beyond that provides some of the best views in the Preserve; well worth walking on rocks for a short distance! Wear good hiking footwear.

Excellent easy to moderate hike with diverse views! Since the snows and rain, the desert was greener than I’ve ever seen it that provided vegetation and flowers not typical this time of year. This is a hike everyone should do in the area and well worth the $3 per person fee!

Fantastic hike with amazing vistas! It was not as difficult as I imagined it to be, plus the trails are not as rocky as others in the MSP.
