This is a great hike, views are incredible. There are plenty of people who have been hiking this mountain for years, it's a popular hiking spot for SLO hikers; this wildlife stuff is nonsense as the other reviewers are saying as a bird wildlife reserve, this place is no different than Madonna mountain. There are several trails from the West and the East side, everything is safe from top to bottom on this trail.

It's an easy hike but when the grass is tall in the springtime be careful of snakes and ticks on the trail. The trail routes into other trails that are visible that you can either hike Madonna mountain or head into the opposite Madonna ranch or etc area's.

Good quick exercise hike, go early to beat breeze. Worth the time

love this trail but beware of dangerous bicyclists, they won't stop for pedestrians. They fly by with their helmet cams for internet sensation putting hikers at risk. I yelled at several of them and they stopped for nothing. Take a video camera in case someone gets hurt to report to the police to get these bicyclists.

if you like Bishops Peak then you'll like Hollister Peak past Cuesta College. Its on private property but people still climb it.

Love this trail, fences are gone after public out cry. Its a great exercise hike and killer ocean views. Beware of racing bikes, put a log or big rocks on trial so bicyclists don't think they own trial. This trial is for families and dogs too.

Good easy hike, little step half way up but is perfectly safe. When you start trail while on the road, there's no sign when you see the trail on your left since the road continues, so if you see that trail that looks like it is going to the wind caves, that's it. Not sure if that road goes to the other wind caves the is along the 101 freeway. Its about a 2.5 to 3 hour hike round trip. Is an excellent exercise hike so hike it often, its great on legs. Also great views too

East Cuesta Ridge trail is an easy trail, its basically a private road on the North bound 101 freeway. You vere right after the top of Cuesta 101 where you'll see a few cars parked along 101 north. Its a pretty trail but some people think its boring but I think it gets prettier as you keep heading to the top, you get more pine trees as you hike higher. This is the highest trail in San Luis Obispo, its a good walk but worth it.

Beautiful redwoods here and the waterfalls with the sound of running water, its beautiful and so peaceful here. Its just so short though, I wish it was longer to hike because its so beautiful here. Highly recommend it here if coming from San Luis Obispo, its 67 miles from there. Parking is $10.00 or you can park on US 1 for free. Bring your family or friends lots of post card pictures you can take here. Also the camping grounds is in the same area too.
