This place was amazing. Gorgeous. Calm spring-fed river. Kayaking is great and relaxing here.

While visiting DC we came out to this location for some nature and walking and absolutely loved it. Breathtaking views, nice overlooks onto the waterfalls. We wish we could have had more time here. A nice park it attached to the trails too.

I walked this trail last Fall right before hurricane Irma hit. It was gorgeous ... loads of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. Lots of mosquitoes too, so go heavy on the insect repellent. It is a nice path that follows the coast, and the path is clear and easy to follow.

This a really great place to get some great wildlife photos. They have a large variety of birds such as heron, egrets, ducks, coot, spoonbills, stork, crane, hawks and more .. plus alligators and occasionally other wildlife. You can walk it or bring bicycles out and ride it (which I prefer here). The scenery is beautiful too ... quite amazing for what amounts to a natural sewage treatment system.

A nice relaxing walk usually ... but if it has been rainy make sure to wear LOTS of insect repellent, as the mosquitoes here seem to be extra bad. Don’t see wildlife very often but I usually go here for exercise rather than wildlife viewing.

I really enjoy this area ... it is a nice drive through wetlands where you can get some fantastic wildlife photographs. It is a very popular birding trail. There are also areas where you can park and walk or ride a bicycle. The roads are dirt or grassy so you will need a mountain bike for them. Lots of alligators as well, especially towards the second half of the drive.

Sometimes this trail has very thick grass and it is difficult to walk or ride a bicycle through. Not really that much wildlife either ... good for a walk but that is about it.

This is a beautiful trail ... but .... there are SO many different trails branching off with no trail markers ... and we got lost for 5 hours. It makes for good memories though ... but next time we probably wouldn’t get ambitious and keep taking trails that take us further away from the main area.
