A good and pretty hike... Just felt too short and busy for me considering the drive.

One of my favorite outdoor places! Climbing around the hoo doos is so much fun both as a kid and now with my own kids! Stunning scenery that you can get up close and personal with. Plus there is camping a stone's throw away and a shallow river to float down.

Short and sweet - plus, it's only 5-10 minutes away from Payson Lakes - all of which are great for kids.

Great 'hike' (walk) for kids - nice scenery and paved path you can drive right up to. Grotto Falls is only 5-10 minutes down the road and is similarly simple/beautiful, so they're a good combo in a single day, even with kids!

Only hiked to the Y - we did so with 4 kids under the age of 6. Decent incline but it was too short and there are waaaaay too many people on this trail for me; definitely not 'moderately trafficked' (at least the first third). But, all said it's a good one with kids!

Take a map! I lost the trail several times due to overgrowth and later on to rock formations in the trail. Granted I went up at night and my phone had died. The overgrowth is bad enough it is worth wearing long sleeves and pants as you will basically be walking through lots of thick bush.

Not only did I go up at night, but went solo - risky business. A cougar nearly pounced on me about an hour in (the last turn on the road/trail). fortunately my head lamp caught his eyes and I jumped toward him yelping so he took off, but it made the rest of the hike rather nerve wracking! I also saw what I believe were bear tracks, and on my way down a clawed/bitten up jacket with a few blood stains. This is definitively a more remote hike - I didn't encounter ANYONE on the trail. Aside from the trail and danger it was a beatiful hike. Unfortunately I didn't make it quite to the top because I got off trail :(

I'll do this again in the daylight, with a small group!

5 hours in and out with a bad knee. The first third was easy going along the bottom of a beautiful canyon full of all kinds of rock formations. The remainder is consistently steep without much view until the top. But the summit view is one of the best of Utah County. The valley below is truly awe inspiring. Great hike with some unique views - will absolutely repeat!
