    Moderate Trail.
Completed 24DEC17. A lot spots to stop and take beautiful pictures.
    Good for Family.
Dec is very foggy at the morning, for some reason is called Smokies Mountains, however between 1pm to 3pm you will appreciate the views!

Rolando Torres reviewed Appalachian Trail: Unicoi Gap to Tray Gap

Completed on 25NOV17 with my wife and my daughter (10 years old). Stayed one night next to the Tray Gap Shelter.

Approx 6.5 miles from Unicoi Gap to Tray Gap Shelter. You will complete around 13 miles out and back.

Hard. Recommend good hiking boots. Steep climbing and some sections very technical.

    Views are beautiful!

    Met few Thru hikers.

    Highly recommended!!!

Rolando Torres reviewed Appalachian Trail: Hot Springs to Tanyard Gap

I completed this section with my wife and with my 10 years old daughter. We stayed overnight and came back next morning to Hot Springs campground.

You will hike one mile next to the river...

Was our pleasure to meet two Appalachian thru Hikers... great stories and good motivation!!!

    I rate this section Hard.

Views = good ( different points to stop and take some pics)

Hiking shoes highly recommended. I saw some people with running shoes having a hard time...

    Great Hiking and beautiful waterfalls.

    Parking = limited
Hiking shoes = Highly recommended (water resistant)
Stay with the blue marks. I do not recommend take the horses trail.
    Moderate/Difficult / Hard = you will have all 3
A lot of Rocks = Some areas are technical
Kids = I don't recommend this trail for kids under 10 years old.
Bring enough Water = on my way back, I saw a young couple that were lost without water and I gave some water to both.
