Steve Cannon reviewed Titcomb Basin Trail

This trail has some of the most spectacular scenery ever! We camped the first night at Sapphire Lake (west of Hobbs). We had it to ourselves and it was a great spot. The next day we did a day hike to Island Lake and Titcomb Basin. I don't know if I've ever seen any more spectacular scenery. Seneca Lake looks incredible. Then, the view from the 2nd pass down toward Island is top notch. Then, the area in Titcomb Basin looks like you are in another world with the jagged mountains coming up out of the water! Our third night we camped at Eklund Lake. The trail that goes above the Lake has a view of the lake and the Wind Rivers in the background that is also incredible! I woke up before the sun came up and there was fog everywhere and the pictures were incredible and I felt like I was in the Smoky Rocky Mountains! Tough trail, but so worth it, you won't even notice the pain :)

This is a great trail. We started at the Cohab Canyon trailhead, checked out the overlook, then continued on the Frying Pan Trail to Cassidy Arch, then down the Grand Wash Trail. I was able to hitch a short ride back to the car. Amazing scenery, great variety, One of my favorite hikes of all time! I think we did the hike in November, so there was a skiff of snow here and there. But the day was sunny and cool and perfect for hiking!

Spectacular country near the Tetons. Rode horses through Alaska Basin on the way to Buck Mountain and over the ridge to the other side near Jackson. This is one of the top notch hiking areas in the world.

Great trail and easy to access from Logan. Walking along the China Wall is pretty cool with great views. Good variety with a nice walk along the Logan River as well.

This is a great hike and not too long. It is also famous for the Youtube video by Devin Supertramp and unfortunately for some folks that have died swinging from the arch. It is a beautiful and fun hike with a few chains along the way to help you get through. The arch looks awesome and the day we hiked there was a group swinging from the arch. It was awesome to watch them and hear them yell with excitement. I think it is illegal now. I would recommend this hike to anybody except for infants and invalids.

This trail is a blast! Amazing scenery with amazing buttes in the distance, mountains, canyons, and hiking in slickrock heaven. I loved the variety and the road along the Colorado River that leads to the trailhead is also spectacular. One of the best hikes you will ever do.

The hike to Delicate Arch is one of my favorites! It really is hard to beat. Interesting, challenging, spectacular, and short. The view of the arch as you come around a big rock is awesome! If you only do one hike in Arches, then this is the one. I think I've hiked it 4-5 times in the past 10 years. It hasn't gotten old for me!

One of the best views ever. #1 rated view by Backpacker Magazine! I good workout, but so worth it. One of the best trails I've ever taken - but I say that about many southern Utah trails!

Amazing and fun trail in Snow Canyon State Park. We hiked between Christmas and New Years and had a blast. Amazing red rock, pinyon pines, and scenery. We continued on and overlooked the Tuacahn theater. We had the place to ourselves and loved every minute of it!

This is a one-of-a-kind hiking experience. No trail to follow. Just amazing fin canyons in and around amazing rocks and cliffs. Easy to get lost. !st time we had someone that had been through as a kid, so we were able to watch the video and get permits for our own exploration. Much easier that way to get permits. I've been twice since then and always without a ranger. Important to remember where you have been so you can backtrack out if needed. One of my favorite all-time places to hike!
