Wow, one of our favorite new mellow trails. Great place to see fall color especially if the twin peaks have snow. Quiet, not too busy, super easy to get to from Longmont. Photos have dogs off-leash but there were very specific dogs must be on leash signs- if it were off-leash it would be one of our faves!

Actually off leash ok- see Boulder's voice and sight control program: https://bouldercolorado.gov/osmp/dog-regulations-by-area

Beautiful trail, some damage from recent valley fire. The on-leash designation is incorrect, this trail is part of the voice and sight control off-leash program per Boulder County: https://bouldercolorado.gov/osmp/dog-regulations-by-area

Definitely a favorite spot to take our dogs off leash. Views are as beautiful. Usually a few people fishing and lots of other friendly dogs. If your dog likes to swim, he'll probably just ask you to leave him there and come back tomorrow...dock for jumping and loads of easy entry places.

Absolutely stunning hike. The drive in is a little longer than you might expect as the last 5 miles are on rather bumpy dirt road. Whether it requires a raised vehicle probably depends on how much you care about your car. We took our truck and were glad. Parking is an utter beatdown in mid-summer if you don't get there early so...get there early, like by 7 or 8. We got there at ten and just finding parking took 45 mins.

Lovely hike but having put about 20 all trails hikes under our belts now this definitely clocks in as Hard, not moderate for us. Parking is challenging unless you're there really early. The elevation gain is persistent and on large steps, and if you head down the east ridge it has some really treacherous spots. Also, we found this trail "heavily" as opposed to moderately trafficked, usually with large groups who were quite loud and voices just echo heavily through the canyon on the way down. Nice workout close in but we'll probably stick with other hikes for the workout value.

Beautiful trail but the number of mountain bikers flying down the hill without slowing at all make it an unpleasant exercise in surprise for a hiker. Most of them don't warn you they're coming up on you and you have no time to get out of their way; usually its a matter of jumping when you hear them 10 yards behind you going 15 mph. They're technically supposed to slow to go around you but the speed they are going didn't seem that it would be possible. Don't recommend for hiking anyway.

Awesome trail! Lots of shade makes it great for a warm day. If you're like me and your knees prefer steepness going up to coming down, head up "Saddlerock Trail" as it is the down leg of Gregory Canyon. Gregory Canyon is a little less steep going down.
