Once you park at the gate you hike on the road until you hit the true trail head on the right. From there the trail heads into the trees and you will see the trail not maintained metal sign. THe trail quickly opens to the river bed. You spend about 80 yards In the river bed going over boulders. Keep an eye out to the left for orange tape marking the trail which is to your left in the trees. Don't stay in the riverbed like I did for the next 1.5 miles it's an ass kicker although the scenery is beautiful.

Hiked the point on Saturday 9/2/17 @ 7am.
For 7am there were a lot of people hiking up. Coming back down was a zoo. Get there eeeaarrrlllyy if you want a little peace and quite. We left the parking lot at 9am to go home and it was completely packed.
The hike itself is paved half the way with black top. Great views. Just do it real early.

Beautiful hike. The dirt road to the trail head is pretty dusty but well groomed. There is plenty of parking at the trail head. Trail starts off in the trees and ends up cresting into lake Eleanor. Past the lake you enter the bug zone. More biting flies than mosquitos. After a nice uphill you end up in the meadow, biggest one in Rainier National Park. Views are awesome and the flowers are incredible.

Great little hike for the family and dogs. When the trail met the stream that comes from the falls we passed over the steam. We then climbed up the rocks and followed the stream all the way up to the falls. We have two large dogs that made the climb just fine.

    Made the hike 7/16/17
Trail passes several lakes, streams, and beautiful meadows. The turn off for Hidden lake is well marked. Hidden Lake is a great place to hang out for lunch and enjoy the scenery.
