    Rick Regalado reviewed Loch Lomond

First of all, Loch Lomond is a single lake. There are a few other lakes in the area like Ohman, Steuart and Reynolds but they are not connected. Loch Lomond is a popular fishing and camping destination with a rough 4x4 road that will take you right to the water. This is another trail that is considered part of the Apex Trail System and it has stunning views all the way up. This is also close to St Mary's Glacier and Alice off of Fall River Road so watch out for the bears and mountain lions. A 175 lb. cat was just put down in one of the residential areas for killing and eating domestic pets, as it was approached by wildlife officers it didn't back down and try to flee. For some reason the predators in this area are extremely aggressive, even the bull moose in the area have gone after people and killed dogs. This is another one of my "home" fishing spots along with Fall River Res, Chins Lake and Sherwin Lake.

Rick Regalado reviewed Red Elephant Hill, Empire Loop

Red Elephant Hill is one entrance into the "Empire" 4x4 trail system. This entrance is quite tricky and can cause you some serious vehicle damage if you are a novice or you try it with a stock vehicle. I waited until I modified my Rubicon with 3.5 inch lift and 35' tires. There are a few "tippy" spots through the rocks but once past that you will be fine. The Empire entrance is my choice and it has more sub trails right as you go in. There is Bill Moore Lake and several other runs you can take that include a few nice water crossings as well. I love this place for aspen viewing in the fall. This is a "must do" trip if you love off-roading!!

This again is an awesome trail. When we went there was tons of snow and we had to use Yak-Tracks on some of the ridges but what amazing views. There is a trail over the top that will lead you into Rainbow Lakes and I want to take that some time. I have been told it is a strenuous climb and you need to watch out for the lightening but I am game for the trip.
