I discovered this little gem while I was on my way home from another hike. It is an Ohio Nature Preserve. You need to park in the designated parking spot. There is a driveway you walk up (about .5 miles) before you actually get to the preserve but there is not parking at the other end of the driveway. The trail without the loops is fairly easy but you do not get to see any real views unless you do the loops. The loop furthest north takes you to a cliff/cave. There is a staircase going down to the bottom so you can get a good view. Both loops have some steep loops. The southerly loop has one climb called climbing Jacobs Ladder. It is not for the faint of heart but is worth the climb. The top holds a wonderful view of the entire valley. Enjoy.

Did this in August 2015 but came out through Cascade Canyon. Simply beautiful. While you need to carry bear mace we had no issues. Hammock camped in several different spots including the Alaskan Basin. Unfortunately, we did this at the same time the two girls were killed climbing the grand Teton. Here is a video tour: https://youtu.be/N_eAJAHtlp0 Enjoy

I would hike the trail backwards so you you can see bikes sooner. This is a bike trail but also good for hiking

This is a very easy trail. In the whole 2.5 mile walk my altitude only varied by 36 feet so it is very flat. It is mostly gravel path but at each end there is a short loop that is mowed grass. There is also another path that is virtually all mowed grass trail that goes through a meadow. A lot if variation in the habitat and I have seen deer and turtle as well as many variety of birds. I gave it a 4 only because I like a few more hills. If you are looking for a nice easy walk, this is you place.

While this is a Mountain Bike trail, it is also a great hiking trail. It has been well prepared for bikes for the ground is hard in most places and bridges for every gully. It has built to follow the water line of Alum Creek Lake and does so by often backtracking itself. The Nature is beautiful and on the whole six mile trip, I only had to move off trail to let 4 bikes pass. All in all a great hiking trail. Go counter clockwise to have the bikes coming at you or Clockwise to have them coming from behind. Hiking Time BTW is about 1.75 hours.
