Ravi Raman reviewed Silver Dollar Lake and Murray Lake Trail

Outstanding hike. Trail is in great shape. A few snow sections but no trouble with it. Wonderful views and some flowers blooming. Very dog friendly as well. Don’t stop at the first lake, go all the way to Murray Lake for more epic views of far away peaks and a view looking down on Silver Dollar Lake.

Wonderful loop. We went Friday 11-1pm. Not busy at all on weekdays.Doing the route counter-clockwise you hit an amazing vista about 3-3.5 miles into the hike that is a great resting point.

Ravi Raman reviewed Mason Creek Trail to Bear Paw Trail

Amazing park, brand new a hidden gem! We hiked the Mason Creek to the Bear Paw trail hitting all 3 overlooks. We then continued counter-clockwise and made a big loop via the Old MIll and Staunton Ranch trails. This is the better way to do this hike...as a big loop instead of an out and back. You see more terrain and hike through some nice aspen groves in the final few miles of the Old Mill and Staunton Ranch trails.

We hiked friday 9-1pm and there was hardly anyone out there! A couple mountain bikes and a few hikers. There were plenty of creeks and stream crossings which our dog liked.

The colors are amazing right now!

BTW - make sure you hike the Bear Paw trail as the three overlooks on this trail are unbelievably good. Perhaps the best views from any hike in the area.

Awesome hike. The trail is steep, but not overly long. The flowers are awesome at the start of the hike and then again above treeline.

Took me about 90minutes to get to the top and about an hour to get down. My dog loved it too and everyone was so friendly on the trail.

Was a little confusing to know where to park (directions took me to the entrance to hendersen mine) but it's obvious to then take the little dirt road to the right of the mine gates...and then park at the lot 1/4 mile up the road and walk 1/4 mile to the trailhead. There is room for about 10 cars at the trailhead itself, along the side of the road (there is no formal lot at the trailhead).

Also, it's unclear when the trail ends! I went to the second set of mining ruins, near the remaining patches of snow and then turned around.

Arrived at parking lot at 8:30am and only saw a few people on the trail, when I returned at 11:15am the lot was pretty full, but the trail wasn't all that crowded.

Also, there was a lot of water on the trail, with some stretched taken over by running water as it was raining the night before. It wasn't a big deal, and I hiked it just fine in trail running shoes (not water proof).

Did the hike today, Friday July 29, 2017.

Started at 8:45am and the parking lot was 30% full. By noon it was pretty full. Get here early if you hike on a weekend!

Wildflowers are at their peak at this location right now, especially above 11,000 feet...the flower look better and better the higher you get.

Lots of seasonal streams and a perrenial stream close to the trail along with a couple lakes....so good for dogs to cool off as well.

Really amazing. We arrived at 9am on Sunday and there was a prime parking spot at the start of the dirt road. We hiked half a mile up the dirt road to the trailhead and made it to the second lake. We could have gone further but saw rain clouds on the horizon and played it safe. One of the best hikes I've been on and not very far from Denver!

I took a friend who was from sea level, and while the trail does climb a bit, it isn't crazy hard. The snow fields aren't bad, easy enough to cross though if you have uneven balance a hiking pole helped.
