An easy hike. There are quite a few patches of dead trees which isn’t pleasant to look at.

Loved! The water is freezing, but still refreshing after the hike. If you have a kayak, definitely bring it! The parking area is right on the lake.

Awesome hike that everyone has to do once. You can also walk along the ridge at the upper falls to get to the lake too.

I forgot to pack hiking poles and I regretted it. My knees were not feeling it on the way down.

Bring a kayak if you have one! Parking is right at the boat launch. Speaking of parking, bring cash because it’s just a pay box if you don’t have the annual pass.
Definitely go on a clear day because the big pay off is at the lookout point. Yes, the bugs are still bad. Even with good bug spray I still got bit maybe 4 or 5 times.

I would say this hike is more on the easier side of moderate. Go early otherwise you will compete with the crowds.

The final climb up to the top can look a little sketchy, but definitely worth it! The parking lot looked a little crazy when I was leaving around 2pm .

I got there around 7:30am and never saw anyone until 10:45am. I had the whole beach hike to myself and loved it. There is a parking lot at the park with bathrooms before the trail starts.

The tide goes out around that AM time window, so I got first dibs on the shells and sand dollars. There are quite a few tide pools to observe too. In terms of interesting wildlife, I saw a few bald eagles. I was hoping to see orcas, but didn’t have any luck.

Very easy trek to make, but gorgeous views of the bluffs and beach.
