Nice hike, beautiful scenery. Not too crowded on the weekends is a great reason to hike here.

A nice, scenic trail with a moderate difficulty in some inclines. About half way up you can get a great view of the Phoenix skyline. On some of the areas you may encounter loose rocks (it's normal to see hikers slip sometimes), but I would not say it's dangerous.

Great trail for the family (and dogs), with PLENTY of parking. This trail is not a crowded one so prepare for a lot of fun.

Nothing new to add here. Awesome hike if you want something challenging. I would rate this trail under Echo Park (other side of Camelback) and Piestewa in terms of difficulty. However, this is still an efficient work out and will get that blood pumping.

This trail is more raw than others around. Trail markers are not plenty so it may be easy to get off track in some areas. The loose rocks give the trail a moderate rating for intensity, but I would in no way categorize this as difficult/hard.

As for directions on getting to the trail we parked at the Mormon Trailhead, walked west on E. Euclid, took a left on S. 22nd st., then a right on E. Beth st. Voila, the trail is at the end of the street.

The better hiking route at the Lookout Mountain, which allows you to go up to the top. A little demanding at some parts, but you'll get in a steady workout. Once at the top the view is pretty nice - seeing the other notable hiking sites like North Mountain, Piestewa & Camelback/Echo.

The circumference trail is the more relaxing hike around Lookout Mountain. The view and scenery is nothing special, but it's nice to get a look at some of the homes near by. I agree with the reviewer Dan - there are other trails intersecting each other which may confuse some. Just stick to the Trail #308 signs and you'll be fine.

Great trail to hike if you're looking for a short but challenging route. The couple of parking lot areas can get crowded, even on the weekends so it is best to arrive early. Great scenery from the top.

Great trail with enough scenery to enjoy. Can get a little crowded on the weekends but nothing like Camelback. Plenty of parking though.

Small trail which cuts up over a small mountain/hill. A pretty easy hike when walking, so I recommend adding some jogging. Pretty straight forward and easy for the whole family. When at the top you will notice finger-like stones, along with a beautiful view of the area. Be sure to bring the camera.

The North Mountain National Trail is a fairly challenging one depending on how you complete it. At the top you will see a tower with dishes (a radio station). Many people decided to come back down the way they went up (not completing the loop). If you decide to continue the loop you will go down steep parts of the mountains.

CAUTION: Going down the mountain from the top is pretty dangerous. You are close to the edge of the rocks, with many looks rocks swimming under your shoes as you walk. Personally, I would not recommend this for young children, unless you want to hold their hand and take things really slow.

This trail (towards the end) is rather "dangerous" than the others I've wandered onto. But it is worth it. The views are beautiful so get the camera ready!
