So far the best hike in Zion NP. We got up very early hopped on a shuttle, got off at the Grotto stop. Hike a level trail along the Virgin river then the hike up began. Switch backs along the canyon side the up a narrow gap to a 22 Switch back to a landing with portapotty. Then the exciting part began up a narrow fin to Angels Landing.
Bring gloves, you will need them for the chains as you climb up the fin trail. Trail is about 3ft wide at one point, and two way traffic, which will congested most of the time and can be scary. Stay in center atop the landing.
Dont feed the Chipmunks. The fin part of Angels Landing trail is NOT for people afraid of heights.
Do bring water, hat, gloves, a camera and a picnic for the top.
Weather does change fast, Thunder Storms blow in fast.

A long hard trail up, but so worth the hike up. The view of Yosemite Valley is breath taking like no other trail. Switch backs with are main way up.
The trail on top is not very well marked so be vigilant as you go right toward boulders and then to a narrow stairway down to viewing landing and Yosemite Fall edge. We had our picnic above, sitting on boulders at a upper falls in a tight gorge before the falls edge.
Start early to avoid the busy trail as the day goes by. Pack plenty of water, a picnic and a hat. Hiking poles do help, for some of the steps are steep on the way down.

Misty Trail is the appropriate name for this trail. We went early to be ahead of the crowds BUT, with the mist near water falls get very wet and cold in April. Better to go at noon after day warms up.
Misty trail is a steep incline in a few areas past Happy Isles area. Plenty of water falls to see and hear and a Restroom along the way. where trails meet.
Prepared to get wet in a windy canyon, wear a warm raincoat and a drying towel for lens of camera.

We hiked in April while weather was still cool. Spring flooding had south trail under ice cold water between the debris field areas. We had to take our boots off and tread 100ft in one area and climb over boulders in another to stay out of flooded trail. At west end there are plenty of hikers, to where eat end are very few that hike that far back.
If you hike on clear afternoon you can get great shots of Half Dome in Mirror Lake.
You can ride your bike to Trail Head. Yosemite has plenty of trails for bikes.
