Peter Thonis reviewed Table Rock Trail

I'm not sure how this rates as moderate. Somewhat steep but short and easy hike. The payoff view-wise is outstanding. Suddenly, you find youself standing on a gorgeous precipice.

A really good hike for a family and/or with dogs. Relatively easy and consistent climb due to the way the trail was built. A bit annoying descent as you get to the nine and 10 mile mark. The view on top is gorgeous.

This is a great workout on one of the worst maintained trails in the Whites. Nice hard work going up and rather annoying decending with lots of silt. Still, a go-to hike if you're training for bigger climbs. And the view of the ledge on the way up is awesome. Be prepared for numbnuts who have taken the tram to the top and think it would be fun to hike down. I've seen barefoot walkers carrying Uggs and entirely unprepared tourists starting down with the idea that the tram was short, so how hard could it be? Believe me, it's not a fun descent for the inexperienced.

Good, moderate, straight forward hike with nothing steep. Excellent for dogs and when you have a variety of experience levels. Mooselauke has a truly lovely view in every direction...most of the Whites, the Greens and the Adirondacks. On a nice day, just delightful. Be wary in bad weather, though. The summit is very broad and exposed.

This is a nice little hike but rating it as "hard" is downright silly. A good rule of thumb is that any hike less than 2,000 feet vertical elevation should be rated moderate as a maximum.

My brother and I did the full hike from Tripoli Road past Greeley Ponds and back. Really great trek and some nice views. The steeps coming back up East Osceola and the chimney up Osceola are tough while declining but actually fun and easier than they appear when ascending. The heavy rain we experienced from Osceola back to Tripoli slowed our descent a bit, but overall a terrific walk in the woods.

Great hike and really fun in Spring. If you do the entire round trip, it's 3,160 feet of elevation. Not a moderate hike. How Wolcott gets rated hard, when it's no where's near as long or difficult is beyond me.

Love this trail. Straight up for the first 1.5 miles, then a nice stroll to the summit of Mooselauke. Beaver Brook Trail runs right next to some of the prettiest cascades in the Whites.

One of the more spectacular hikes in the Whites. Not for the views but for the amazing cascades that go on and on forever. Beautiful.

Perhaps the best views in the Whites. Superb loop. Worth the work.

This is one of the top two or three trails in the whites. Yes, it helps to be in shape, but the trek is so worth it. Follow it up with a glider ride that will take you right above the trails you were just on. breath taking.
