Pat Pearsall reviewed Escalante Natural Bridge

Loads of fun! We took the trail up and the river walk back, if the water isn’t too high we would highly recommend it. The natural bridge alone is worth the trip but the granary along the left canyon wall is the best we’ve seen in two weeks of exploring Utah! Keep hiking until you’re tired of wrestling with the sand, pop into the river for a cool, leisurely and solitary walk backcourt

The falls are definitely worth it but take the time to enjoy the rest of the hike as well. Very large and visual pictographs, exceptional rock formations and clusters of plant life not often seen in the desert. It is a busy trail but late in the day it was very manageable.

Beautiful arch and great views. Well worth the hike. Very few people in the full parking lot went up Cassidy, most wandered down the wash. A little strenuous for some during the first mile climb but we had no issue and it was over 90 and sunny so very doable. Take the hike you’ll be happy you did

The bristle cone pines are amazing!!! Beautiful trees contrast against a stark landscape creating a wonderful journey. An easy walk/hike of 4 miles with a modest 500 ft of elevation gain on the way back. Very few people on the trail most walked to the first overlook for a photo, some went s far as spectra point but few traveled the 2 miles to rampart overlook. 25 campsites at the monument and plenty to do in the area. A great rest day on our Utah journey

Would have given this a 3 if we didn’t take the sliprock trail back. A very easy hike with nice vistas of the entire basin and distant views of Bryce. The sliprock trail allows you to get on top of the formations and see everything from a second angle. If you’re looking for a short interesting trail this is it. Nothing spectacular but accessible and interesting.

Nice little hike around the basin. The colors are amazing as are the formations. Kodachrome is a great escape from the crowds of Zion and Bryce. For us it was a rest day between long hikes in Escalante, Bryce and Zion. Interesting rock formations though I didn’t get the “hat shop” I loved the giant Gnome formation and strolling on the desert floor. We didn’t see a single person on the trail!

Not a hike more of a drive and a stroll but well worth it. Don’t stand on the concrete with your camera go explore. It really is a beautiful formation up close. Wander around and you’ll find easy access to climb around and gain excellent vantage points for photos. Several cars stopped when we were there and none explored at all. Unfortunately like so many places in the Park narcissists continue to deface the beauty by carving names and dates in the stone. Please report anyone you see doing this!!!

Surprisingly quiet! Half full parking lot and almost no one took the less than quarter mile trek to the overlook. Nice stroll and decent views. A good stop after one of the longer canyon hikes
