This might have been the most awful trail I have ever hiked. The blow down is so much that it is almost impracticable. I did the 13.7 miles because, frankly there is nothing in between except for logs. Every 50 feet you have to go over, under or around these snags. At places there are so many that you have to climb to higher ground to try and see where does the trail continue. Once you spot it you'll have to plan how to rejoin it through the downed trees. Contrary to the description, there are no scenic views to the exception of a single spot that gives you a glimpse of the valley. There is nothing else to see besides downed trees and at the end there is a lake. That is it. Oh, and the mosquitoes. The most frustrating hike I have ever done.

Since everybody agrees this hike is amazing I am not going to delve on that.
The trail is 5.6 miles and not 4.9 as stated above. I also think it should be considered easy rather than moderate. Maybe the distance is what bumps it up in class but it is very easy to walk and includes man-made steps for the few short steep inclines.
It is family friendly so you will encounter a fair load of people even on weekdays.
Boy Scout Tree is almost at the end of the trail. You will pass over 2 small bridges and walk another 5-10 minutes. There is a very short steep trail to the right. The tree is 20 ft and visible from the main trail.

The Panther meadows are beautiful and extremely easy to hike. After that you are left with a whole nothing to do. I ended up by hiking towards the summit and reached the snow (maybe by green butte?) Only on my way down I realized there was a trail coming from the last (highest) car parking.

Be careful with the above descriptions. The first one is the correct one. The second is for HART lake, not HEART lake.
The views from the top are spectacular but the trail is not easy to follow. I got lost as well as everybody else coming up the trail because it suddenly vanishes in the rocks. Just keep on going in the same direction. The lake is directly above Castle Lake.

Trail is in the woods with sporadic views of the lake. Not much altitude change and not much excitement either. Saw some deer, geese, woodpeckers and turkey.

Nice, remote waterfalls. When I went there was no one around maybe because it isn't that easy to find and it is out of the beaten path. There is parking for about 5 cars or so. The trail is not perfect and you will need to go around/over a couple obstacles. There is a tiny space at the bottom. more than 2-3 people would be a crowd but the water is at ankle level.

It gets steeper as you approach the summit. Bring water. Wonderful views from atop.
