Great backpacking hike, we stayed the first night at Campers Creek and had the place all to ourselves, then we hiked on to Sandbeach Lake the next day and stayed the night up there. Again, we were the only two people up there. It was super windy and weather moved across fast the entire day and night, including sun, sleet, thunderstorms... the hike itself is a bit tough with packs on but very doable. Comparable to Finch Lake hike in the Wild Basin area.

Beautiful. Snow free until you get to the Loch, then it's a challenging hike up to Lake of Glass. We wore spikes and used trekking poles. From Lake of Glass, we continued to Sky Pond. So worth it!

Here is a video of the hike https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppfZGhjOd-A

Went today on 17 June 2019 and it was very challenging due to the steep terrain and the snow. We wore spikes and had trekking poles. No snow until you get to the Loch, then it's snow all the way up. It took us 7 hours to complete hike but we spent about an hour at Sky Pond and a little time at Lake of Glass. Lake of Glass was equally stunning, you get to it before you reach Sky Pond. A lot of rock scrambling, post holing and sliding, the way down is more treacherous than going up. So worth it!!

some good elevation for Indiana. dense forest and pretty ravines. a total of approx 3 miles of forest road walking everything else is a smaller path through beautiful forest. trail is well marked. some very nice secluded Backcountry tent sites. not crowded.

I love this lake! It is so spectacular for photography. The reflection is great in the water. The water lilies are a beautiful yellow color and just add to the glowing beauty of this lake. It's not a tough long hike, so take water and a snack and just sit and take in this stunning beauty. You can go further to Dream Lake and Emerald Lake, if you want. Also stunning!

Nicole Mapleton reviewed Odessa Lake Via Fern Lake Trail

Wonderful hike! We start at Bear Lake and go all the way to Fern Lake, passing Lake Helene and Odessa Lake. We usually eat lunch at Fern Lake and then hike down to the Hiker Shuttle and take that back to Bear Lake parking. Spectacular high alpine scenery and stunning forest. The lakes are amazing! Not too busy. Bring sunblock, water and snacks.

Beautiful hike! It does get busy during the peak season, so go early to find a parking spot. Bring plenty of water and snacks. The hike is moderate in difficulty and very scenic all the way up.

Great hike, a lot of uphill and it can get icy, so wear spikes when you go during that time of year. Lake was smaller when we went, not too much water in there. Great views.

All uphill, not as easy as what you might assume. Tough short workout and the falls are pretty amazing. Not too crowded at all. Carry bear spray. It also gets hot, so do this hike early or later.

Amazing hike! Even if you just go to Hidden Lake Overlook, it is well worth it. Going all the way down to the lake is challenging (especially on the way up) and it's good to go early because of the sun exposure. Carry water, bear spray and a snack and put on sunblock and hat.

A beautiful hike through stunning old growth forest and passing by a stunning gorge with a beautiful waterfall. Hike is not too difficult and the lake is stunning. Carry bear spray or go as part of the Ranger led guided hike and bring water and a snack.
