Nicci Jae reviewed Gold Hill North Trail

This is a fun hike through the trees and a great view of Sandpoint, the lake and even Schweitzer Mtn. You do share the trail with mountain bikers and we went on a Thursday and saw five hikers and three bikers so it is a busy trail.

This was a beautiful and unexpected hike! You could even wade through the water a bit to get over to a cool picnic/camping area. Still quite a few bees but a nice and challenging hike!

Great little hike! The bridge from Naples is open now so you can go that way. It's pretty neat because there are three lakes and one of them is handicap accessible! Very pretty drive and it's a subalpine terrain once you get up there. LOTS of huckleberries. The road is really nice for being a dirt road I think any car could get up there.

Great trail and the ranking is accurate - moderate. The falls are BEAUTIFUL and I jumped in for a great photo op!

This trail is always busy and the road to get up there is pretty rough. Once you get past HIdden Lake though you won't really run into other hikers. If you want to hike further there is a great little cabin that is free to stay at (West Fork Lake Cabin). It's first come first served and sleeps 4. This hike is moderate and you can definitely get it done in one day.

This hike is a great fall hike with spectacular views! The last quarter mile is a bit confusing and could be dangerous during a rainfall since you're on a granite slab. Always manage to catch fish and it has some very decent campsites at the lake. Giving it 4 stars because there are always a few groups of people on the trail when we go and I prefer to be on trails that are empty. Dogs don't need to be on a leash but with all the people it's just common courtesy. We have hiked this after work and it goes fast!

This is a really fun family hike with a few steep sections. Dogs don't have to be on the leash and you never really run into others out there which is my favorite part about this shorter trail. Snow is all gone and the road is clear for the season! There are even decent bathrooms at the trailhead so it gets 5 stars for that! Fishing was great here last summer too. This hike is BEAUTIFUL in the fall!

For being so close to town, it's a fun little hike for families. You can hear the road from the top so this isn't my version of the "best hike ever" and there are always others on the trail because it's so accessible. This is one trail where you can basically hike it all year long which is nice when you want to get outside.

This is a fun hike - the last 1/2 mile is really steep! Water is clear and really refreshing. Haven't hiked it yet this season so not sure of the snow coverage for today. It's out and back for sure and doesn't take that long.

This is a great hike and fairly easy - it's June 2018 we just hiked the North peak and I'm 8 months pregnant so you can do it too! Great views, snow is all gone and there's a camping spot at the false peak that you can stay at if you want. Going slow it took us about 1.5 hrs to get to the peak where the old lookout used to be.
