Nikki Feldy reviewed Lake Elmo Park Reserve

There are multiple trails at Lake Elmo for you to hike, bike, horseback ride, and cross-country ski. Pets are welcome, but are asked to stay on their leash. There are also three options for coming at Lake Elmo: group camping (multiple tents per site), rustic (walk-ins), and modern (trailers and RVs). The rustic walk-ins are located off the cross-country ski trails. These trails are lit to allow for safe skiing at night.

It's a good thing that this trail is used for primarily mountain biking, because if you're moving slow enough, you'll get eaten alive by flies. Horse flies. Deer flies. You name it, it was there, and trying to attack your face. It was not a fun hike, although it was a nice area. I plan to go back some day and give it another try.

A great park to immerse yourself into the redwoods. It wasn't a rigorous trail by any means, but I didn't get to hike for long, due to time constraints of the trip I was on.

Devil's Lake should be a state park. Its enormity of visitors it gets a year paired with its amazing geological history is enough to make you visit. But then you actually see the place! It's spectacular! Yes, you have to pay for parking, but it is well worth it. If you only have time for one hike in Wisconsin, make it this one.

Great views of the surround areas. I went canoeing, hiking, and water sampling in the same day for an AP Environmental Science class that I was helping student teach. It was a lot to do in one day, but it's a nice place to go with lots of open space for large groups.

I hike and snowshoe in Lowes Creek almost every year. There are multiple loops you can take based on your interests. Some loops are steeper, some are for mountain bikers, and some are better if you're bringing your dog along. This is a great place to go cross-country skiing too.
