Enjoyed this little hike on a road trip thru Oregon in July. Great little hike with stunning views. Although short, it will get your heart going. The waterfall is beautiful, and I've never seen so many shades of green in one area (then again, I am from CA). Highly recommended!

Love this trail! Incredible views of the coastline. Did this hike on a road trip in July and the trail was so lush and green! The soil was dark, mossy, and rich with ferns and wild berries and flowers. The surrounding forrest is impressive, with lots of large uprooted trees creating mossy caverns, caves and eerily beautiful formations. Bring a camera! The lookout at the end is very pretty, but honestly, the entire trail is equally beautiful and enjoyable. One of my most favorite trails of all time!

First time on this trail about 2 weeks ago. I have a 4Runner with 4WD, but ended up parking in the shade where the county maintained dirt road ended as it was very clear where the maintenance ended; and I didn't want to risk getting stuck way out there. It was about 1/2 of a mile to get to the trailhead (located on right hand side of the road). Trailhead not clearly marked- just a metal gate with a hikers entrance. Other hikers have posted pictures. No water in the creek and plenty of poison oak and foxtails. Pants would be a good idea on this trail. Overall, beautiful views and very peaceful amongst our California Oaks. Pretty isolated, so bring plenty of water and come prepared.

Although there are some spots where you will be walking thru sand, there is a large portion of this trail that is either paved or wood-planked, so I consider this a decent walking trail- not really a hiking trail. There is beach access and the views of the coastline are beautiful. There is also quite a few benches and picnic tables if you wanted to stop for a picnic. The bridge that crosses the lake is lovely and offers a picturesque view of local wildlife. I went on a Monday afternoon and only ran into 2 other small groups of people. It was also pretty windy the closer I got to the beach, so I would recommend a light jacket and eye protection. I gave 3 stars because it was an easy and enjoyable stroll, but I prefer a little more of a challenge. It is also too bad that no dogs are allowed on this trail.
