Fast and furious on the way up. Good heart pounding stuff. Spent some time on the top just hanging out and enjoying the view. Came down slow to enjoy all the different flora and fauna. Definitely worth the trip. A good pair of hiking shoes or boot are helpful. Trail is well traveled so getting lost is by choice. Not a lot of traffic on the trail. Great motorcycle trip!

A good trail to get your heart rate up. Not too strenuous. Many 5th graders on the trail when I went. Definitely worth the effort. Great views of Mt Shasta. I did it in running shoes and a liter bottle of water. Don't forget to stop at Indian Springs to drink the most refreshing, safe water of all time!

This is a great trail. Wide and easy going. Took about 3.5 hours at a easy pace. Did it in running shoes. Great view of the lake on the summit!

I rode it in a counter clockwise direction. One big rock garden at present on the long 6 mile side climb. Lots of fun going down on the short 2.6 mile side. It would be a great hike. Elk are a plenty as are the deer. With elevation change you see the trees change from Pine and Oak to Aspen? and Spruce.

Great trail for an afternoon hike. Well marked. Some great vistas to enjoy. I did it in running shoes and about a liter of water. Round trip in just under 3 hours. Would definitely go again.

Awesome trail! Lots of stuff to keep you busy. Easy to moderate trails and tons of them. The One Niner (1-9er) trail has lots of side single tracks that weave through the woods. Keep going and you end up at Stillhouse Hollow Park. There's water at the bathrooms. Then have a fun fast ride back. And it's more fun if you deliberately try to get lost. You'll end up at the parking lot on Comanche Gap Rd no matter what.

Definitely not my idea of a fun MTB trail. I rode the whole thing.approx 28 miles. One big rock garden and not the type you want to ENDO on like I did. Just one long pounding. It would be an awesome hiking trail. Otherwise, just leave the bike at home!

If you are in Rockland, don't miss this one! Excellent short hike across an amazing breakwater built at the end of the 1800's. The bonus is the wonderful light house at the tip. Definitely worth the trip.

Another one of my favorite hikes in this area. I have often Mountain Biked it too! Can be a bit hard to follow for the first timer. This is one of many trails in the White Mountain Trail System. A book detailing all the trails can be bought for a few dollars at the Pinetop/Lakeside Chamber of Commerce.

Awesome Alpine meadows! Pine forests. Old plane wreck near the top. Nice long day hike going up to about 11,000 ft. Best if you have 2 cars, one to park at the east parking lot and one to park at the west parking lot. Either end is okay too, if you go out and back. Please respect the native lands at the top and get the proper pass to enter that area. A pass can be bought at the local Hon Dah (sp?) casino.
