Bear Lake parking lot was full before 8:00 am. Save yourself the trip up there and park and ride. The weather was beautiful all morning and into the afternoon. Clouds started building around 2:00 pm. We summitted Flattop and continued on over to Hallett Peak. If you have any fuel left in the tank when you get to Flattop it's worth the super strenuous climb/scramble up to the top of Hallett. All the views are magnificent - words cannot describe and pictures don't even come close. There is a short hike up a snow field from the hitching post to Flattop summit. You don't need tracks but poles look like they would be helpful. We didn't have any and made it without any problem. Enjoy the adventure!
