Stough Canyon Park trail is the complementary trail to the Wildwood Canyon Park trail in the Burbank Mountains. They both actually meet or converge at a common point which is the peak or summit of Vital Link Trail and where the radio towers are at. With a little bit of exploring and wandering, I had over 7 miles logged in. The trail is a nice one filled with dedicated park benches and lounge chairs from the Rotary Club and the city of Burbank. The trail starts at the Stough Canyon Nature Center. As you ascend up on the trail, the first worthwhile spot to stop or rest would be "Vista Point" which has a scenic view of the city and Bob Hope Airport with a bench. You can then continue up the path to the abandoned Youth Campground Trail. The rest of the 2.5 miles of the trail will take you up to the radio towers. I had a blast on this trail and would recommend it to anyone. Lots of beautiful views of Verdugo Mountain and San Gabriel Mountains, the 210 Freeway, and the high rises of downtown Los Angeles and its neighboring cities.

Very nice thigh-burning, fat-burning hike from the parking lot to the top of Wildwood Canyon hike, aka Vital Link Trail, to where there is a lounge chair dedicated to a local hiker and the radio towers. You can probably grind out about 5-6 miles total on this hike if you add a few extra side trails for exploration of the different city views the park has to offer. Overall, the trail is very well maintained by the city of Burbank. It's situated right next to a golf course. You will be entertained with numerous views of the city of Burbank, the Burbank airport, the golf course (of course), Verdugo Mountain, and some of the best views of metropolis Los Angeles.

One of my favorite hikes that is situated near Wrightwood, CA. I had the misfortune of not wearing proper shoes (regular hiking shoes) and attire (shorts, hey it was 80+ degrees in Los Angeles at the time) on the hike in January. And was it treacherous, snowy, windy, and cold!! But the hike up with absolutely gorgeous. The summit view with a 360 degrees panoramic view was breath-taking. I love the Wally Walderon tree and its dedication to Mr. Walderon and also the dedication of the monument to Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Boys Scout Movement. The trail is about 8.2 miles from the parking lot (Vincent Gulch Divide) to the Baden-Powell summit and back. It consists of a lot of switchbacks with a resting bench right before the first mile. Bring lots of water and the right attitude since this hike will consists of a lot of uphill push to the top at the 4 mile mark.
