Amazing that all these beautiful trails are so close to Vegas. Stunning views everywhere if you can appreciate the rugged, rocky formations. A very serene yet challenging hike in late November.

I only did the lower half of the trail, going down Swamp Canyon from UT 63, and then heading south. Simply amazing. Little trafficked, maybe because of the bear warning signs at the time. Went through different landscapes and forest thicknesses. Well worth it!

Spectacular views ever improving as you're always gaining altitude. I couldn't get to the Upper Falls because of heavy ice and snow, but the trek up to the Lower Falls was rewarding enough: beautiful scenery all the way through. Best thing about hiking up there in the winter: no crowds. Truly worth it!

Awesome short hike. Beautiful scenery most everywhere. I hiked from the Spruces Campground for an extra long walk through the quiet forest. The last stretch is treacherous during an icy winter; bring boot spikes. Big difference during the winter? Hardly ANY traffic, especially early in the mornings.

This hike is everything great that's been written. Many patches of sand along the trail which make the going slower, true, but the scenery's worth. Bring lunch and have it under the dense shade of the willows. High season's hell to park off Park Boulevard so arrive early. Well worth it.

Great moderate trail with a strenuous final stretch toward the oasis, which is a beautiful spot: In the middle of June it still had water trickling down a couple of yards and wild blooms. Great for a fine picnic, then a short rest and back up the hill!

A great moderate trail with pleasant views of the park's midsection in the distance. NOT the greatest scenery in the park but good if you're not looking for steep climbs. Fencing around the mine site is depressing but it's obviously been graffittied badly in the past. Worth doing the whole loop but to the mine and back the same way for a shorter hike it's still a good stretch.

No big boulders around on this trail but still stunning Colorado Desert scenery. I agree that the miles posted are somewhat misleading: from the parking area and doing the Mastodon Mine loop (which is a bit strenuous but worth it), I clocked in at 11 miles-plus round trip. There are a few steep but short climbs. The palm groves and oasis are full of overgrown brush, wild yet charming. GREAT views of the Salton Sea on stark clear days.

Easy to access and park. Dramatic canyon and creek scenery. A perfect early morning summer hike! There were points alongside the creek in which one could almost swim but definitely splash around. Clear, chilly water. The hike up the hills past the creek area also affords some awesome views. Lots of great spots for picnics; just bring lots of bug repellent.

A very pleasant and quite moderate hike. The descent into the Pushawalla Palms area can be tricky (lots of loose rocks) for a few yards... but then the oasis is awesome. If you don't wish to do the whole loop because the second half (southern portion) is not as scenic as the canyon itself, you can go back the same way when you reach the metal fence at the mouth of the canyon. Very pleasant and easy to reach trails system!

After a boring start (from where you park, behind RM Elementary) to right after passing the wide basin, the canyon is spectacular. Right at the watering hole that's been built for the wild sheep, there is one climb after another but all easily doable if you bring the right shoes and free hands to grab onto the rocks. There are many palm groves all along and in the summer, during an early morning hike, there is plenty of shade, thanks to how deep the canyon runs in many parts. A few signs posted warn hikers to keep out... but people hike undisturbed all the same. Definitely worth trying!
