This was a nice starter, conditioning trail. Though dog friendly, the beach is posted as no dogs allowed without a fine. Since I have a lab, this was disappointing. Still we all enjoyed the loop.

Nice easy hike for a group that included a toddler. Nice views, not much incline and trails nicely marked. Great beginning conditioning hike. There are also horses on trail, but trails are wide enough for them to pass without any issues.

I recently started hiking with a 79 year old friend and she wanted to attempt Pinnacle Lake this weekend. We were at trailhead about 8 AM and there were 2 other cars ahead of us. Trail started and first 3/4 mile was fine but bugs were voracious. Bug juice is a must right now on this trail. After first 3/4 mile into trail, I would rate it as difficult as many, many, many long stretches of rocks and roots and a lot of stepping up higher than knee hieght on roots and rocks. Very hard on knees and back if carrying a loaded pack. Trail was muddy in several places but usually there was a way to not get so muddy, but muddy none the less. We did not get all the way to the lake due to a bad fall on the trail at about 1.2 miles in, we had to turn back to the car. We plan on attempting this hike again later in the year after some additional conditioning hikes.

I would not classify this hike as difficult...the most difficult thing about trail was finding the road. GPS said it was FR 66 but sign on HWY 2 said FR 6066 and there it is - RIGHT after the sign and I had traffic behind me so passed it first time and had to turn around to get on road and then I still felt unsure as ther is no sign stating trail name. Got to Jennifer Dunn trailhead and was on trail but about 8:15 and we were 2nd car in the lot. Beckler Peak starts off with a gentle but incessant incline that never gives up. Trail is relatively free of rocks and roots. At the 1.5 mark there is a blowdown/cut down area that opens over the valley with spectacular views. There still was some snow on the trail but very easily navigated. The inline continues with switchbacks until you reach the stone stairs, which is the sign that you are almost there! At the top of the stairs is another breath stopping view over valley at neighboring mountains. Proceeding about .2 miles further you are at the summit and the 360 degree view is the best I have seen on the hikes I have dont so far. I highly recommend this and anyone can do this one one step at a time as there are plenty of resting places along trail on fallen logs and coming down was easy.

I cannot believe how much this trail has changed since last time I was here! Trail is best laid out and maintained that I have seen. Nice views though shroFacilities were very clean, what more can you ask there? Mountains were covered with fog, but this did not prevent views until close to the snow fields. Then it hung close to ground giving the area an ethereal feeling. The drastic blowdown area right before the snowfields was dramtic change from the lush forest we had been walking through. Wonderful views though shrouded in mist. A great short hike for all skill levels.

Lots of people but the trail is well maintained and parking was not an issue when we got there about 2 PM. Lots of switchbacks and trail was very rocky. Made me glad to have high top boots for ankle support, Beautiful waterfalls and you almost have sound of running water the whole hike. Lake is clear and my lab enjoyed playing in it. There were people fishing in streams on way to lake and I saw fish jumping while we ate our lunch/dinner on the boardwalk overlooking the lake. Enough of a elevation gain for a good workout and over all a well recommended hike!

A wonderful day hike trail and trail was very well maintained. Trail had minimal mud, no water on trail and roots, rocks and other impediments were minimal. We took the lower trail in and the upper trail out. The sound of water is a companion throughout this hike and we were humbled by the roaring river tumbling over rocks and large tree trunks and several magnificent waterfalls up close and in the distance. Once you get to where the two trails join back together, the climbing starts until you reach the lake and you get a beautiful view of the mountains and snowfields above. Off to the left is a large fallen tree that serves as the perfect lunch stop and my dog enjoyed swimming after sticks and being outside. If you have a day you want to spend 4-5 hours going to lunch on a beautiful lake with many enjoyable views going in and coming out, I strongly suggest Goat Lake.

This was my first trip to Heather Lake and it gave me a good workout while wondering uphill through the forrest. As we neared the lake we saw some snow and even though trail was under the snow, the dirty track through and over the snow lead the way. When my husband and I got to lake we took a moment to take in the view of the lake against two snowfields on other side of lake. We headed to the left and took a break on the boardwalk and had our lunch, enjoying everything we saw and everyone we met. We ended up going all the way around the lake crossing the two snowfields we first observed. All in all and wonderful hike. Planning to try it again before the summer is over.
