Great hike today! Beautiful weather, no snow, lots of fallen leaves. Glad I brought my poles.

The views were beautiful. Good advice in the reviews below about staying to the left when in doubt of which way the trail goes. There is water all along the way. Pesky flies too. We didn’t continue to Rampart Lakes but will return. Hiking poles were great to have on this hike due to rocky paths and tall steps.

This hike did not disappoint. The 40 switchbacks were strenuous but worth it. The path is well maintained and I did not experience a lot of bugs, only one mosquito bite and I did not need to use bug spray. Bring your suite, the water in both lakes is perfect for swimming!

We completed this short hike the first week in July. Still some snow, micro spikes help, marmots galore! Beautiful falls and vistas

The signage was a little misleading. We ended up on the Holder creek trail I think, which we do not recommend. You can hear the highway during the hike. If you stay on it long enough you end up on the side of the highway. The creek is nice though. And the trail is wide enough for two people at times.

Nice and easy hike, wide trail (road) and well groomed. The waterfall is a beautiful payoff at the end. The creek we had to cross before reaching the waterfall was running full. You could either try to cross that and soak your socks or balance across the 15 foot tree. Some people chose to crawl across the tree. It was muddy but manageable. It’s a quick and fun hike.

Beautiful views of the straight and nice wide trails. We saw Hawks and seals. Not very many people either.

The beginning of this trail is very rocky with loose gravel so it's easy to slip. Polls are useful on this hike. Right now it's really dusty and dry. When you reach the peak it's 1900 feet then you have to descend another 300 feet, about a half a mile, to reach Margaret Lake. I'm rating it so low because in comparison there are so many better and more enjoyable hikes in the area.
