Great hike and it is difficult. Our feet and legs are killing us afterward, LOL! Pretty scenery and areas to cross water. Our dog got plenty of exercise needless to say.

So we had no idea about this trail because there’s not enough reviews first of all and the description is lacking to from ALL TRAILS. This hike begins at the bottom of Hondo Ave. You have to walk a steep up and down road before getting to the trail. Residents only park on this road. When you get to the trail you have an option of choosing the yellow or blue trail. The yellow trail is short to Crystal Falls. The blue trail is very rocky and steep in areas leading to a reservoir which unfortunately we couldn’t make. We did take a left at the fork on the trail that leads to a nice overlook though. Overall we climbed close to 8K, and from the parking lot to the overlook and back is about 3.5 miles. I wish we could’ve hiked to the reservoir but had walked about 2 miles before we started this trail and had enough for the day. Decent trail but not overly impressed.

Spectacular, but hard trail only going up! Plus it's pretty hot out right now. Once you get to the top it is all well worth it! The reason I say it's hard is because we had to park at exit 123, walk 2 miles just to get at the beginning of the trail so overall we did over 6 miles to and from in the heat. Our feet were very sore! The parking at exit 125 gets full quick in the morning. There are chipmunks at the top of the trail that will eat out of your hand! So adorable! We read this is the last season open to public so enjoy while you can!

This is not an easy trail. Maybe in July when all the snow is melted it will be considered moderate. It was cold and windy at the top. We had to go around a ton of snow that was was hard and slippery which meant going off the trail. Decided to branch off to Mt. Flora nearby but did not go to the top. I did not like this one for some reason.

Beautiful day! Hardly anyone around. Very peaceful. The hike to the dam and climbing up hill to see the lake is awesome. Could have spent the night there in a heartbeat. My dog loved it. She went I to the water every chance she had.

This was a great hike! We did a total of 8 miles to the top where the "horse teeth" are. Great climate and weather all around on 3/25. Our 6 month old puppy had no problems all the way up and still had energy after. Parking is limited so you may have to park at Blue Sky open space which is what we did. We didn't want to walk on the street to get back up there so decided to take the longer scenic route from Blue Sky all the up and down to Horsetooth Mountain. We saw groups of deer on 2 occasions. Going up is not easy if you are not used to the incline. Very challenging. We started at 10 and finished at 4 going at a relaxed pace.

Great views. Well maintained. The Keyhole is a good photo opportunity. Can be muddy as ice melts. Began at Wild Loop and turned around at beginning of Blue Sky. Total of 6 miles and 4 hours at leisurely pace.

We didn't do the full loop but it seemed like we did because we went halfway and then turned around so the scenery was different. It was an OK trail. Challenging in areas. A wind storm was starting around 4 so we had to hurry it up. Started at Dakota Ridge toward Red Rocks and then turned around. Lots of snow and ice.
