Easy trail to navigate. Some inclined to get your heart beating but not too bad at all. This place is great for views! Beautiful area and the trail was pretty quiet. A lot of areas are closed off but those are mostly secondary trails so it doesn’t ruin the hike.

Great hike if you want to take a brief detour from the park’s paved trail. Recommend entering the trail near the parking lot if you want to be challenged with some uphill cardio.

Not a bad loop. The trail was packed (2 January) with kids and most turn back not knowing this is actual trail hiking. The only odd part was the “Snottsdale” effect. The unwritten hikers' code is to say “hey” “hi” “howdy” to people you pass along a trail. Here I ran into more people in one day with little/no water (complete inexperience in hiking) and the cold shoulder when greeted then I have in the last two years of A Lot of hiking around the country. I always laughed at the “Snottsdale” moniker because I usually have great experience in and around the town but I got the full Monty today. - lol.

So if you do hike this trail, think about bringing some extra water (I gave a bottle to a family who was sharing one bottle between them) for inexperienced hikers, expect some people to have a blank robot look hidden behind shades when you say hello.

The bad behind us, it is a really enjoyable area with great views and multiple trails to explore, making this a place to visit regularly. Experienced hikers will have an easy time but there are sections with some good inclines and the footing is pretty solid throughout! I will definitely return and now that I know the local scene it will be more enjoyable!!

Great alternative hike to the paved path around the lake.

One of my favorite hikes. Not a lot of people and the views!!! I think being up high is the best. The trail does dip down and crosses the river twice. If you are looking for just photos don't descend from the top. If you are hiking then by all means go the whole way! Lots of loose rock so be aware of your steps and footing.

Great trail with some serious steep incline hiking the last mile a 30-35 degree inclines. Take plenty of water and take your time. The effort is worth the view! The RF warning signs at the top convinced me not to hang out long and I ended up resting beneath the peak about a quarter mile down.

I went on 1 Feb 17 and I saw three people total on the trail. Great trail to challenge yourself and for most (including me, a trail to check off and probably not revisit).

This is absolutely a HARD trail hike given the last mile. Experience in hiking is important due to the work you need the last mile and the remoteness of people once you commit to the final ascent.
