Stunning views. But keep an eye on the road as you drive. There are no guard rails to keep you from going over the side. Common sense right?
It gets crowded on weekends so bear that in mind as well. For those with little children and with little time, this drive is quite nice.

Wonderful afternoon hike on July 7th. Unfortunately we had to cut it short due to dinner plans so we turned around about half a mile past Frozen Lake. I intend to go back for the full course. What we did cover it was beautiful even though it was a bit overcast. It was moderately crowded with serious and tennis shoe hikers alike. Get there early to find parking. It gets full quickly on weekends.

Nice easy hike. In fact, I’d rate this as “easy” and not moderate. But I guess it’s a subjective measure.
You get great views up at the top. It is a high traffic trail so keep that in mind for weekends and holidays. I went on the trail on July 5th so it was predictably busy.

Hiked this a few weekends ago. Trail was packed with melting snow at the higher elevation. Trekking poles and water resistant boots recommended, but still manageable without them. You get nice views of the mountain on the way up. Round trip took about 6 hours since I had lunch and hung around at the basin camp before coming back down.
