Mike Barton reviewed Mount Lafayette and Franconia Ridge Trail Loop

It's rated hard for a reason - it's at least 6.5-8 hours. BUT - this has to be the best hike in New England. You see different types of rock formations and plant life as you trek up and down, and we got lucky with 360 degrees of unobstructed views of endless, rolling mountains along the ridge. Make sure to bring a big water bottle, plenty of snacks, and layered clothing. It's an incredible hike!

Loved the hike - and lake solitude. Serene, peaceful.

Fun hike with great views over Lake George. Some history at the top as well.

Tougher hike than 'Easy'. The hike is awesome though and the hut is a cool stopping point. Views were cool at the top too

Easy hike...can almost run up if you're feeling ambitious. Pretty views of the city at the top...watch out for the selfie sticks

Not sure why this is rated as moderate...it's pretty leisurely. It's a unique place to see with the rock formations and walkway. We went in the fall and the leaves added to the experience

Fun fall hike. Giving it 4 stars because our views at the top were obstructed by passing clouds

Fantastic hike with incredible views at the top. My favorite ~3 hour hike in NH!

The best option if you need something close to Boston. It's a decent hike, views aren't the best at the top...but I appreciate a convenient way to "get out" of the city.

It's breathtaking. We went about halfway down...the hike is as hard as you make it. If you're at the GC and want to hike downwards...it's absolutely perfect. Just remember that the easy part is hiking down...it's much harder when you decide to turn around

Long and difficult but sweeping, expansive views at the top. Needed to climb a few times on hands and knees over various obstacles

Fun hike with many different climbing obstacles to overcome.

Difficult and nerve-wracking at various points of the hike - even at the very top. But as most of the reviews point out, it's a cannot miss...so get those tired legs loosened up from your trek and get after it

Pretty hike with a soothing payoff at the end. As of this review the address within AllTrails is incorrect...the trailhead is located next to the Hot River Cafe!

Mike Barton reviewed Glymur Falls Loop Trail

Beautiful hike, and worth going the entire loop. Watch your footing on the way down! Also, be wary that you may need to go barefoot across the water...our hike took us across freezing cold water almost to our knees while stepping on rocks. Regardless, one of the coolest hikes I've ever done!
