Wonderful, peaceful hike along the water. 4 hour round trip and even on a “busy” day, there is so much space between you and others that you feel like you are still alone with nature. Even just getting to the beach (20 minute walk from the parking lot) is worth visiting. Only when there is super high tide do you need to worry about difficulty, otherwise there’s plenty of walk way. Reaching the lighthouse itself is quite the accomplished feeling and worth an hour or two to explore and rest.

Recommendation: go during May/June when the grass is great and not burned up near the lighthouse.

Beautiful anytime of the year, but Rialto Beach is a wonderful place to walk when you can see a clear sunset. Dark sand and stone beach, offers a great walk and view of the trees and the ocean. Parking lot is right near the beach, so you can get started as soon as you arrive.

Wonderful hike, plenty of great stuff to see. On the 6 miles through the forest to the beach itself. People warn to watch the tide chart, but even at moderately high tide it wasn’t that bad.

The only reason I give this a 4 instead of a 5 is that there are better beaches for the effort near by. Shi Shi beach is preferable and not as much distance between parking and the beach. Still worth it nonetheless if you’ve already been to places like Rialto and Ruby Beach.

Tip: The trailheads on the beach are not clearly marked, so make sure you know the map and landscape when trying to walk from one end of the triangle to another

Highly recommend this trail (At least until you get to Point of Arches). It’s a long drive to get there (4.5 hours from Seattle) and the trail is a bit rough to the beach, but the beach is magically and feels like you have it to yourself even with 100 people there. A nice sunny day there is about as great a Washington beach location you will ever get.

Tip: Prepare for a muddy trail to the beach, even in July. It’s thick mud and not easy to get around in several spots.
